What is a CEILING?

-A ceiling is an area that covers the inside of the upper limit of a room.

Ceilings are categorized by their construction or appearance.

Dropped ceiling is a ceiling in which the finished surface is made anywhere from a few inches to a few feet below the structure above it. This is done for aesthetic purposes such as creating an enviable height ceiling or, for practical reasons such as making available space for piping. The inverse of this would be an upper floor.

A concave roof or barrel is curved or rounded, usually by visual or acoustic value, while a coffered ceiling is divided into a grid of recessed square or octagonal panels, also called a coffered ceiling. A cove ceiling uses a transition between the curved plaster walls and ceilings, but carries the name of cove molding, a molding with a concave curve.

Ceilings are normally decorated with paintings, tiles and other surface treatments. One advantage of a decorated ceiling is that it is protected from damage.

A stretch ceiling gives a dramatic effect and is likely to be reserved for big events. You can work creatively on a stretch ceiling. Possible applications would range from the color, fabric type, with the ceiling as a projection screen and display video or photos. The fabric may be installed in many ways giving the room a 3D effect.

Stretch fabric ceiling is a great way to cover up piping and wiring irregularities. Stretch fabric ceilings can be made to lodge acoustics, high-bacterial areas, and many more.

Benefits and uses of a stretch fabric ceiling

Smoke-out fabric structures are knitted textiles, made up of melting lines allowing automatic openings of the fabric in the event of a fire and letting the sprinklers to activate. These are very ideal structures in interior installations, exhibition stands, and trade shows.

Drop papers are often used in places where sound and noise need to be set under controlled. Places such as airports, auditoriums, concert halls, conference rooms, libraries, offices, schools and restaurants.

Stretch fabric ceilings may be used to create drop-paper structures making a room bigger or adding a bit of color to a space. They are generally made of fire resistant material. Different types of drop paper includes, with or without fiber glass, large format for digital printing and more. The fabrics can be designed for illumination and inkjet printing.

Stretch fabrics are capable of low voltage lighting systems and flat panel speakers. Fabrics are generally easy to move and therefore can be modified, replaced or removed without disrupting the rest of the space. They are ideal materials for places where sound and noise needs to be managed.

Fabric structures are a great way to concealing ceiling irregularities. They may be designed in 3D or be integrated into other elements of the ceiling.

The fabrics are both light weight and very durable. They have a long life expectancy. They are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
